6A State Baseball Tourney – Bowmen Defeat Reynolds and Head to Medford

Fans got to see the Sherwood Bowmen at their best on Memorial Day with a 6-2 win over Reynolds in the first round of Oregon’s 6A Baseball State Playoffs. You can read a detailed report of the game from the Oregonian.  The Bowmen travel to Medford for round two on Wednesday.


Bowmen Win Two-in-a-Row in Series with Lake O

If you missed the Bowmen and their exciting 4-2 win over the Lakers on Wednesday, check out this great account from KUIK. It was the second win in the series for Sherwood who play at home against Lake Oswego today at 5pm.

Bowmen on a roll – defeat Canby and Lake O

The Sherwood Bowmen are on a 3-game winning streak. After two momentum-building wins over Canby last week, the Bowmen came to play on Monday at home against Lake O. It was a fight to the finish with a home run by Zak Taylor moving the Bowmen into extra innings, Rich Hekker robbed a home run at the fence to hold the Lakers, and Adley Rutschman hit a double at the plate setting up the winning run. Hekker hit Rutschman home with a walk off double to win the game. Brendon Wexted pitched 4 perfect innings. Brandon Wester and Taylor closed the game. The Bowmen face the Lakers in Lake Oswego on Wednesday and home on Friday.

Bowmen Look to Get the Win in Canby Series Today

The Bowmen are looking to even the score today in their three-game series with Canby. The rain-filled game on Tuesday left the Bowmen with an 8-5 loss. Today’s game has been moved from Canby to Sherwood High School.

Bowmen Fall to Tigard 3-2 in Game Three

Another pitching contest between Tigard and Sherwood ended in a 3-2 loss for the Bowmen. Tommy Paul and Zak Taylor were on the mound for Sherwood. Next game for the Bowmen is scheduled for Tuesday at home.


Bowmen Rally for Big Win over Tigard 12-5

The Sherwood Bowmen erased a 4-0 lead by the Tigard Tigers with an exciting 10 run, 3rd-inning outburst. Jacob Church hit two doubles and the Bowmen had 12 hits overall. Church, Rich Hekker, Cam Clem, Zak Taylor, and Tommy Paul each had two hits. Brandon Wester pitched three innings to close out the game, allowing zero runs and just one hit from the Tigers.


Tigers Get Slim Victory Over Bowmen – Game at SHS on Weds

A low-scoring pitching contest between Tigard and Sherwood left the Bowmen with a 3-2 loss on Tuesday at Tigard High School.  The team hopes to continue the momentum gained from its 4-2 win last Friday against Tualatin and take the second game in the series on Wednesday at home.


Bowmen Fall to Tualatin 5-2

The Bowmen lost a tough contest with Tualatin tonight 5-2 on the Timberwolves’ home field. Sherwood looks to tie up the series with a win this Friday at home. Game time is 5pm.


3-1 Victory Makes Bowmen Undefeated Against Newberg

The Sherwood Bowmen faced Newberg for the second time this season and came away with their second victory over the Tigers with a 3-1 win today at home. Junior Jared Urbach and Senior Zak Taylor pitched for the Bowmen. Sherwood plays at home again tomorrow (4/15) at 5pm in their first match up with Tualatin.
